Synopsis:

In the 1980s, it was almost assured that if a video game was popular it would get its own animated series. So it was no surprise when the hit Nintendo game "The Legend of Zelda" joined the growing ranks of cartoons that had evolved from the game industry.

Zelda shared time with two giants of the video game world, Mario and Luigi, on Saturday mornings as part of The Super Mario Brothers Super Show.

In The Legend of Zelda, a powerful magical artifact called the "Triforce of Wisdom" was kept safe from the clutches of the evil wizard Ganon and his minions by Zelda, the princess of Hyrule, and her adventuresome friend Link. Ganon already possessed another artifact called the "Triforce of Power," and spent a good deal of time trying to get his hands on the "ToW," because whoever controlled both would have the power to rule the planet.
