Dino Boy in the Lost Valley was the middle segment in the half-hour show, Space Ghost and Dino Boy. One 7-minute segment of Dino Boy was sandwiched between two Space Ghost stories each show.
In Dino Boy in the Lost Valley, a young boy was forced to parachute from a disabled plane into a mysterious, unexplored valley. The wonders and dangers of the valley quickly revealed themselves when, shortly after landing, a saber-toothed tiger attacked the youth. On the verge of becoming a meal, a caveman named Ugh rescued the boy and the two became fast friends. Dino Boy and Ugh (who learned some broken English) were soon joined by a faithful dinosaur companion they called Bronty. Bronty could only communicate by making a *glurping* sound, but there was a glimmer of comprehension in his eyes that wasn’t shared by his reptilian relatives in the valley where, along with the dinosaurs, early mammals and various communities of primitive men and odd, semi-civilized beings (found nowhere in history books) thrived.
The valley may have presented hidden dangers at every turn, but that didn’t prevent a restless preteen like Dino Boy from doing enough carefree exploring to keep Ugh on his toes. Dino Boy and even Ugh routinely fell victim to being captured or otherwise put in mortal danger and, with the help of Bronty, took turns rescuing one another from harm. Always able to outwit or out-fight their opponents, the two were able to return to their cave dwelling after each harrowing adventure.
