The Adventures of Superboy, which originally aired as the middle segment on the half-hour show The New Adventures of Superman, followed the exploits of a young Superman in rural Smallville. The episodes also featured super dog Krypto and Clark's first girlfriend, Lana Lang, who was one of the few characters in the Superman saga to consistently suspect the connection between a disappearing Clark Kent and a conveniently appearing Superboy, although she never followed up on her suspicion.
