Synopsis:

Saturday Supercade was an hour-long block of cartoons that played on Saturday mornings beginning in 1983. It included several segments that were each based on a different video game that was popular at the time. For the first season, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Frogger, Pitfall, and Q*bert filled the hour. In the second season, Frogger and Pitfall were dropped from the line-up and replaced with Space Ace, and Kangaroo.

Q*Bert and his friends (including girlfriend Q*Tee) attended Q-Burg High School, where they often found themselves at odds with the resident bullies; Coilee, Viper, Ugh and Wrongway, the same baddies Q*Bert squared off against in the video game. Also appearing on the show were Slick and Sam, the same small, green raindrop fellows who helped him conquer the cube mountains. In tribute to the game, the buildings in the cartoon were all designed from cubes, giving the architecture a unique appearance.

Coilee Snake and his gang took pleasure in harassing their colorful, tube-nosed classmates, but Q*Bert was no pushover. Popular, brave and an all around good guy, Q*Bert took the lead when standing up to their troublesome machinations. Luckily for Q*Bert and his friends, Coilee's pals were so incompetent that they often appeared to be working against him, more often than not causing his panic-inducing schemes to backfire.
